Doodlebugs

An art-based story time with CRMA Education Director Erin Thomas

This summer, Doodlebugs brings preschoolers an art-filled story time exploring women in art and iconic "isms"!

May 30, You’re Making Me Dizzy!: Bridget Riley created artworks that are meant to fool your eyes and even make you dizzy! Learn about Op-Art today, and make your own illusion to take home.

June 20, Flowers & Bones: Georgia O’Keeffe painted what she pleased, whether it was tropical flowers or bones from the desert. Look at the world through Georgia’s eyes today and paint from a new perspective.

July 25, Aha! It’s Zaha!: Zaha Hadid was an architect who designed buildings like nobody had ever seen—ones that look like water or wind. Build your own curving, winding structure today, inspired by nature.

August 29, Imagine a Place…: Like Hilma af Klint painted places from her imagination, today we’ll take a walk through our imagination. And then, like Hilma, we’ll draw what we see in our mind’s eye. *Today’s Doodlebugs class will include a brief guided meditation, during which kids and their adult chaperones will sit or lay on the floor and practice being still and quiet in order to imagine. Wear something comfy and even bring a blanket or pillow, if you like!
