This three-part series explores the different facets of women in the environmental and sustainability movement. Come celebrate Women’s History Month with these events.
Leaders in the Environmental Movement (Friday, March 18th at 7pm on Zoom)
The first part recognizes seven women who have been working to create a greener planet. We will be talking about who they are, what they do and why they are important. This part is open to all. To register click here
Creating a Greener Period: Looking at Reusable and Sustainable Menstruating Products (Saturday, March 19th at 11am)
The second part involves the individual, as we have an open and honest conversation about menstruation: the cost of traditional menstruating products on our wallets, our bodies and our planet. This session is open to all people who menstruate and who are curious about how sustainable and reusable products can help us create a healthier body and planet. We specifically encourage young people who have recently started menstruating or who are about to menstruate to come to this discussion, as we help decrease the stigma around periods. *This program is in person at the library.
All We Can Save Discussion (Sunday, March 20th at 11am)
The last part is a discussion on the book, All We Can Save. The book is an anthology of stories, poems, art and essays by women in the world of environmentalism and sustainability. We will be choosing a few of those essays to read, consider and discuss. This part is open to all. It is not required to read the book, but it is encouraged. *This program is in person at the library.
