Hiawatha Public Library — Youth Advisory Group
The Youth Advisory Group is a team of teens who help plan programs, give feedback, and make the library an awesome place for everyone. If you like sharing ideas, helping your community, or just want something meaningful (and fun!) to be part of… this is for you.
Oh — and did we mention there’s FREE snacks?
Your Role
Title: Youth Advisory Group Member/volunteer
Who Can Join: Teens in grades 6-12
Meetings: every month for an hour — with free snacks.
Want to get more out of the experience? Become a Hiawatha Public Library Teen Volunteer and earn hours for attending!
What are we planning?
Fall 2026/Winter 26/27!
What You’ll Do
As an attendee, you will:
Help plan teen events & activities
Share ideas about what the library should offer teens
Give feedback on programs, spaces, and collections
Promote library events to friends & classmates
Work with other teens & library staff
Make real decisions that shape the library
No resume needed. No experience needed.
Just bring your voice, your creativity, and your vibe 🎤✨

You’ll be supported by the Hiawatha Public Library Teen Services Staff the whole way.
